ITS OFFICIAL!!!!!

I am pleased to announce that this morning I received an email from the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England informing me that I had officially been accepted as an exchange student for the 2007-2008 Academic Year!

and i freaked out. it was great. i read the email in the green room at UNM and there was only one other person in the room so despite the fact that i barely know her, i had to tell SOMEONE! so i told her! anyway, its a dream come true and i couldn't be more excited!

all i can say is THANK YOU GOD!

My semester starts September 24th, and I won't be back until June of the following year. Until then, I get to work harder than i've ever worked in my life to make more money than i've ever had in my life. should be a blast!

I'M MOVING TO ENGLAND!

A Couple Things Im Hooked On.... er... lots of things.

ok, first things first. well, lots of things first, lets just rattle 'em off.

1. school is so close to being out i can taste it. and im nowhere NEAR ready for it to end. gotta read two (possibly 3) plays, do juries for acting class on May 3rd which will not only be traumatic but terrifying as well, finish Mansfield Park, and write two MORE papers. but hey, two weeks. im good.

2. movies. movies. movies. three movies are coming out this summer that might kill me because i stop breathing when i watch their trailers. ok, first and foremost is my HARRY POTTER #5. all i can say is YEAH BABY! has anyone seen the new preview? they're AMAZING! i dont know if i can make it all the way to july. second movie, PIRATES THE CARIBBEAN 3. effin amazing as well. and spider man 3's gonna be chill. seein it at midnight, if anyone would like to join. word has it, its one of the most expensive movie's ever shot.

3. got our wonderful presentation out of the way in Jane Austen class. whole ton of fun runnin' around in a pirate coat and playing a man, yet again. (im starting to see a trend here....)

4. watched the movie THE QUEEN which was just released on DVD. i must say i enjoyed it a lot, but i think i may need to see it again because it was a bit hard to follow. my mom and dad and i all sat in the living room trying to figure it out together, which was interesting.

5. saw the movie IN THE LAND OF WOMEN that one i wasn't so sure about when i walked in to it, but walking out i was pleasantly surprised. it was a cute movie with a lot of heart and even found myself getting all emotionally involved. (lame, huh? oh well, im a girl. its ok!) oh, and it was a little weird to see Meg Ryan playing a mom.

6. the daily lobo randomly interviewed me, and it was a "hoot". yes..... yes, i said that. i'm sorry. check it out here

7. im moving to england. i just cant get over that! no word from the U of East Anglia yet though, but here's their website if anyone cares! :-) University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK

8. it rained today, and i still havent changed my wipers.

9. thanks to kyle moore i found a new favorite website. lame that it took me this long to find it, i know. but everyone should check out digg.com. its sweet.

alright, well i think thats everything. a whole lot o' nothin. sorry 'bout that. oh well, thought ya'll might find it interesting. its a nice break from serious posts of songs and poetry, huh? well, let me know what you think. peathout.

"Eat, Sleep, Repeat" - Copeland

it occurred to me at once
that love could be a great illusion
that makes fools of brilliant thinkers every day
that sends hearts of stone and steel
to a place where they would feel like they
were falling, falling quickly in its wake
oh, falling, falling quickly in its wake

is it any surprise
that you feel so overrun?
and all this time you had no one
to tell you how to love
and do you think its unwise
to go and break yourself on this one?
when all this time you didn't know love
you didn't know love
you didn't know love

it occurred to me at once
that love gets everything it asks for
like a young girl picking flowers in the lawn
she gets kiss and tear
she gets every smile and fear but still
she never finds the last of them is gone
oh, she never finds the last of them is gone

is it any surprise
that you feel so overrun?
when all this time you had no one
to tell you how love
and do you think its unwise
to go and break yourself on this one?
when all this time you didn't know love
you didn't know love
you didn't know love

The Anatomy of a Single Tear

a single drop
escaped my burning eye;
you could barely hear the rip
as something in my chest
tore just a little more.
fibers inside me
have been ripped before
but i never could get used to it.
don't hurt me
before i fall in love,
because i've never hit the floor this hard.

i don't know that you could hurt me now.
a cut or two from a knife of yours
hurt me the first and second times,
but scars form thick,
and pain hardens into apathy.

never looked better.

seriously, whoever decided to put cameras on cellphones was a freakin genious! and i love them. i don't really know what i would do without my camera. all those great moments would be lost! and dani, thank you so much for being willing to not only try on stupid things in target with me, but to imortalize the stupid experience with a low quality picture. you're the best!

Jane Austen On Poetry

"...she ventured to hope that he did not always read only poetry; and to say, that she thought it was the misfortune of poetry, to be seldom safely enjoyed by those who enjoyed it completely; and that the strong feelings which alone could estimate it truly, were the very feelings which ought to taste it but sparingly."

-From Persuasion by Jane Austen, Chapter 11
